Dear Parents & Carers of the Walderslade area,
My name is Ruth Baker and I am the owner of Monkey Puzzle Walderslade. I am a qualified primary school teacher who specialised in Early Years. I am keen to offer parents and carers good quality childcare in a safe and enabling environment where children are able to thrive and reach their full potential.
When I took over the former Medical Centre in Walderslade, I was keen to extend the premises so that the whole of the downstairs could be used for the children and the upper parts be used as ancillary rooms. This was to involve a complete transformation of the building with the need for large steel works to support the first floor.
The building works were estimated to take 3 months so we were hoping to open mid to end of August, work got underway on time and the builders were progressing well, until a mistake with the steel calculations was highlighted by the building inspector. This resulted in a significant time delay as calculations had to be resubmitted to Building Control, passed and new steelwork ordered.
I was reassured by the builders that they would draft in extra help and still try to meet the required deadline despite their gallant efforts we are still 4-6 weeks behind. This is extremely disappointing for me as I am sure it must be for yourselves. It is a stressful time trying to find the right childcare for your little ones and managing time frames, I can only empathise and hope that this has not deterred you from visiting our setting once we are in a position to hold our Open Days.
I am pulling out all the stops for this to happen as soon as practicable and shall be regularly updating the website and my Facebook page.
If you have not already done so, please contact Head Office on email@example.com to register your interest and you will receive an invite to our Open Day.
We look forward to meeting you.
